November, 2011: Flying Humvee

Hi all..

So as some of you may have heard, the military has commissioned flying humvees. While the idea of a flying hummer sounds interesting, the images that have been posted online look really lame... which is rather unusual as military tech tends to look pretty neat. What can you come up with?

A lot of people are googling this subject, so hopefully someone will see your concept and change the course of lame military design before it's too late! :P

Thought I'd try and add a little american classic to this without taking the Humvee essence away. Muscle car engine, slight camaro front end for aerodynamics etc. just a shame it's impractical to stick a confederate flag on the top ;).

Love the renderings, Peaceman and Stolarz, envious of your productivity AtomicTitan!

Instead of using propeller this one use Jets engine.

The vehicle's proportion is extremely squeezed, unintentional obviously.

Here's my entry I did this morning. *Phwew* Just under the wire! :)

Cool topic by the way! Love the variety of challenges here!

My flying humvee - shown with rotors and wings folded back on the ground as well as the side missiles and underbelly gattling gun folded in. In the air with everything out. On the side I showed the profile, the over head with the rotors and wings unfolding, the gattling gun coming out, and the missiles coming out.
