Hi all...
We're so excited to now have a forum! Of course it is also empty and lonely... heh. Well, what to say about music...
My new best friend is, of course, my iPhone and Pandora radio. So cool. I just got it a couple days ago so I've only made one channel (Flaming Lips), but it is amazing how good the music associations are. From Radiohead to Spoon to Death Cab for Cutie, I have yet to hear something that I didn't like... I'm just waiting to be pleasantly surprised by Pandora playing a Butthole Surfers tune, since they are the reason I discovered the Flaming Lips about ten years ago. I read an interview with them (Gibby and crew) way back where they mentioned that their favorite band was the Flaming Lips, and I immediately had to go buy an album... and with that discover a new favorite. So perhaps one day Pandora will grace me with Sweatloaf and I'll know that the music genome project is not only cool, but badass. Anyhow... that's my music observation of the day. :)

I'm currently listening to the album Dismantling Devotion by Daylight Dies. I don't like the album as much as their latest one Lost to the Living but it's still great.

Radiohead (http://www.youtube.com/user/radiohead)'s "House of Cards (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nTFjVm9sTQ&feature=user)" is one of my favorite tracks off of the
latest album "In Rainbows"
this video incorporates no cameras or lights, it's a real-time 3D capture using laser technology. So if you haven't seen it yet, check it out here as well as the making of (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyQoTGdQywY&feature=rec-fresh)...
As the band is currently touring North America they've just landed in Hollywood (home of sketch theatre) it could be just me but the air feels slightly more "electric" when Radiohead comes to town! Here is a little playlist I created of the songs they sang into the hills nesting the Hollywood Bowl last night, hope it gets your creative side screaming into action!

Well this might sound kinda Wierd or Odd but I prefer very little to no noise when doing my art with no distractions wether it be music not that music isn't a great source, and especially loud noises which irritate me, but little noises r kinda soothing and ease my mind cause it helps me focus more and always opens up my imagination to new things some how, that I would have trouble with with interference from some source maybe I'm just a Freak lol but does anyone else seem to experience this by chance or is it just me:D

I'm with Crazylegs, I don't listen to music either while I draw. I have the intention to start singing along and to forget what I was doing because I'm singing along to enthousiastic. And the bad part is ... I sound like an alley cat being nudered while having to take an acid bath when I sing. So me listening to music while I draw would be bad for everybody.
What I do sometimes (something that I started doing in highschool) is to put on the tv (not to loud) and for some reason it helps me focus, it stops the daydreaming...

Lmao!!! [quote=Yumiyahachiman;195] And the bad part is ... I sound like an alley cat being nudered while having to take an acid bath when I sing.,thats original "Poor Cat" man didn't think anyone would agree with me but I do the same freaking thing as far as singinging or getting sidetract by the lyrics and I tend 2 loose focus quick but it does help when I hear subtle noises like a fan or just occasional sounds
Don't get me wrong I love music and am a big fan of alot of groups and genres it just sux that it doesn't dosen't mix in with my Art time which is my life basically:rolleyes:
