Well, summer's almost gone and school is starting back up. For some, this is horrible news... while for others, it is something to get excited about. What is your take on it? Kid's getting dropped off? In the classroom waiting to see what your new teacher is like? Dozing off at your desk daydreaming about all the stuff you did over the summer? Up to you... Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and I wanted to say that I am addicted to this site. I find it very inspiring and motivating. In fact I actually took out the school camera and made a couple time lapse sketches myself! you can see them at my blog if you like.

This is what I've got so far. I would like to put a few more critters inside the desk and fill in the empty space on the left with the shadow of another desk or something...what do you guys think? Any suggestions?

hello Sketch Theatre! i am new here and I am very glad that I can be part of such a community. this is my first post here and also my first shot at this contest. Hope you like what i've done:) I don't have a scanner. I've taken a photo with a digital camera so the quality is a bit crappy.

@dusthead - i like your drawing but i think it needs a little more derailing

dusthead, i dig your style it's unique and interesting. I think you could push the shading even farther for added creepiness also, for that added detail alex suggested, maybe some grunge and wood texture on the floor boards.

alexnegrea, your attention to detail is incredible! One suggestion I have is that the character who is being grabbed by the tentacle could have more of a frightened facial expression.

Your line quality is great! One critique I have for you is that I think your characters hands are a little awkward, but other than that It's really good. It gave me a good chuckle:)

i know that i have a lot to learn. you are right the hands are very small perhaps that is because i have hadnt experience of an artist student . no class , no teacher and no help . i hope to see a lot of sketches of others here.

I would be one of the people in the background, yet needed to show a good example to my son - and create a story-telling contrast.

H and 2B pencils. The scan is not as good as I'd like, yet I had to use a scanner at work, and finally got tired of fighting with it.

So I decided to go back to school. After years from getting my BS from CompSci, I decided on getting a degree in Computer Engineering. Just started this week. I must say it was quite shocking to realize that Im competing with guys and very few girls that are almost half my age.

Anyone else recently go back to college?

I guess its different for those of you in high school, but Ive been out since April 14 and Im SO EXCITED to go back to school its ridiculous. Ive already made like 4 different possible schedules for both semesters next year.

year 11 are starting at 9 and finishing at lunch which is like 1:45

im well happy.. half day all the time

coz our school is being renovated and building work will make the school dangerous.. henceforth they want the school to be as empty as possible.
