Hi all...

So I think its about time we see some demons in here!
This month's theme.... Demon Lord.

What this means is up to you, but for ideas I highly recommend reading God's Demon by Wayne Barlowe. This book is absolutely crammed with exhaustive detail about hell, demons, architecture and so on.... Wayne, as you would expect from his artwork, has an amazing imagination and great ability to describe the crazy visions floating around in his mind.

I decided to do a more Eastern style. I ended up finding some Japanese guardians that seemed really cool. I did this on newsprint with ballpoint and copic markers. I added the red color in a later scan with white highlights done with acrylic. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I wasn't sure if full color was frowned upon, so I decided just to include both uncolored and colored. I added wings to make him seem a little for Western. I mean, if demons don't have wings, how can they fly?

I really like your line work. Especially the "stipples" along the arms. Looks like it's about to be inked. Very comic-booky. I think you also have a very nice line dynamic around the contours going from thin to think where appropriate.

Hey there all.. This is all fairly new to me, so I hope I do this right.. I have two entries.. but Evil Lord Bozo has two photo being as I couldn't get all of it in one.

I decide to go out of my safety area in my mind to do this. It doesn't say if I can only enter once or more. But I will do it in two posts just to be safe, and I am hoping this is the place to do it. I really wish I could have used a more heavier paper since this got crumpled near the axe region. I could have light boxed it but I hate the results I get from them it would be lacking in the overall character of the sketch. And further more to compensate for that i would have to ink the piece which I am really awful at.

I went for something very simple 'cause I forgot about the Sketch to Win until today... I used a cheap chinese blue caligraphy marker, a sharpie, a gray and a black pigma brush and a blue pencil.
